John McNeeley and Steve Roche started their songwriting collaboration known as The Suburban Exiles in the early Winter of 2008. In John, Steve found a seasoned frontman and lyricist whose tendencies towards the melancholy, dark, and introspective offset Steve's upbeat, bright, and bluesy style of playing. In Steve, John found a patient, complex, and meticulous guitarist and songwriter that would challenge and inspire him to take his lyrical themes in new directions. The results can be heard in the toe-tapping hip-shaking summertime vibes of "A Pop Calypso Now" and "Rattlesnake Girl" or in the moody candlelight nostalgia of "Half Moon Lake" and "In The Blood". Jason Richard joined up on drums in April 09 to provide a trademark backbeat! The Suburban Exiles are jamming with a great bass player and are rehearsing songs for a new EP and live shows in 2010. Stay tuned! Keep an eye and ear out as new songs, blogs, and photos are posted often at www.myspace.com/suburbanexiles
Pulse was born in the early spring of 2010 from the solo projects of William Keough. Paul, William's older brother, was already dropping sweet bass tones to his solo music, but without a drummer the two were just simply empty. When William followed in his brother's footsteps and attended Stonehill College in Easton he befriended a young Yankee fan named Danny Padilla. Danny had brought his little drummer boy kit to school and William immediately noticed. Living in the same hallway by chance, the two felt that working together on music was simply fate. And so when three began working on tunes together it was as if magic had swept through the Keough brother's Hingham home. The idea of a singular figure in the band didn't stick with any of the members in this three piece. So after many seconds of deliberation the band chose the name "Pulse" and a new era began. After rocking Stonehill College to its core during the spring of William's and Danny's freshman year, Pulse kicked off the summer in their usual rocking fashion by performing in the Exposure Music Festival at the Palladium May 15. The future of Pulse is yet to be written. It is up to the voters. Keep on rockin' in the free world. Pulse is Paul Keough (Bass, Keyboard), Danny Padilla (Drums), and William Keough (Guitar, Vocals).
